This coming Sunday, June 27th, we’ll be at our “big sister” winery’s table (Ancient Oak Cellars) at the San Francisco Pinot Days’ Grand Festival held in at Fort Mason from 1-5pm. As the website says, “Sunday’s Grand Festival at Fort Mason in San Francisco will showcase more than 220 phenomenal producers of pinot noir. Consumers will be able to sample up to 500 pinots from every important domestic pinot noir region, from the Russian River Valley to the Santa Lucia Highlands, Oregon to Carneros, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast to the Santa Rita Hills.”
We’ll be pouring our 47 Friends Russian River Valley 2008 Pinot Noir there. Wow – what a weekend. Just got back from blind tasting of some of 47 Friends’ new releases. It was held in the gorgeous house of our friends near the top of Bernal Heights in San Francisco. With glorious city views, Val’s rockin’ tunes, pizzas, salad, and some great new friends, we tasted through seven Chardonnays and four Cabs – with our new 47 Friends wines included. Many fabulous tasting notes and comments. Looking forward to these wines being released in the next few months…
