Well, I’m in Houston – taking 47 Friends wines to the great state of Texas! I’ve been meeting with distributors here and hope to be able to make an announcement in the next several weeks about who’ll be representing my wines in Texas.
I could tell it was going to be a good trip as soon as I landed at Houston’s Hobby airport at – you guessed it – gate 47. The great karma just kept flowing. I got to my rental car and it was in – again, you guessed it – spot 47!
I met some fantastic folks here. What they say about the friendly folks of Texas is sure true! I stayed at the Lovett Inn (www.lovettinn.com) in the Montrose/Museum district. If you’re ever in Houston, I encourage you to stay there. Dan, the owner, some of his friends, and some fellow guests joined me in enjoying the wine left over from sampling the distributors earlier in the day. What a hoot (with three O’s, as my new friend Todd would say – www.toddpartridge.com)….

47 Friends wines are busy the next few weeks. Tonight they’ll be the featured wines at the da Vinci Arts Middle School auction, where they’ll help raise money to bring arts-integrated education to about 450 middle school students. Next weekend, join 47 Friends wines – and about 47 friends of Mark Westcott and our good friend Annette Demsey as they play some gorgeous piano pieces. Rumor has it that there will be four or more hands playing at some times. The concert is at Classic Pianos in Portland, Oregon. Another great music series is the Old Church Jazz series, each Sunday in March. There’s going to be some great music, great friends, and great wine. What a combination! Hope to see you at one of these great events. Grab your 47 Friends – and enjoy!
